📚 Summer Reading Camp: A Splashing Success! 💦
Our Summer Reading Camp wrapped up today with a splash! Students showed impressive growth—ranging from 20% to 60%—on their reading assessments. They engaged daily in hands-on centers, sensory breaks, literacy circles, and games. Earning compliments led to the exciting opportunity to soak their favorite teacher, adding a fun twist to their achievements.
We're incredibly proud of their hard work and the joy they brought to the camp. It was a summer filled with learning, laughter, and lasting memories!

Out of an abundance of caution, the Deputy Robert Webb Memorial Field Day at the Park scheduled for this Saturday has been postponed. This is due to the significant possibility of rain and storms. Please follow the Estill County Chamber of Commerce on Facebook for updates on a rescheduled date.

We kicked off Monday morning by learning that our book study character, Hector Zeroni, faced challenges with reading early on. His story inspired us to work hard and stay focused during our UFLI, Blending, and partner reading centers. We wrapped up the day with some fun and energy-filled outdoor games—what a great start to the week!

This morning at 7:35 AM, the district was made aware of a possible threat circulating on social media. In response, our team acted swiftly and responsibly by placing the high school, middle school and ATC on lockdown while we investigated the situation in coordination with our district police and administration.
A general threat was identified and immediately turned over to the appropriate law enforcement authorities for further investigation. At 9:00 AM, after confirming there was no active threat to students or staff, the lockdown was lifted.
We want to reassure our families that the safety of our students and staff is always our top priority. We are proud of how quickly and professionally our schools and law enforcement responded to ensure everyone remained safe.
