And that’s a wrap on our first week of Reading Academy! 📚 Our students have worked hard in small groups and literacy circles, building their reading skills and confidence along the way. Each day, they look forward to a well-earned recess break before heading to Art. In Art, Ms. Danielle guided students in using oil pastels and blending colors—just like they blend sounds and words together while reading. It has been wonderful to see their creativity and learning shine both in the classroom and the art room.

Good Morning ECMS families! This is a reminder that summer school and the STEAM and Create Academies will begin on Monday June 15th. Students attending will need to be at Estill County High School by 9:00am. Bus transportation is provided as well as breakfast and lunch. Summer School and the academies will end daily at 1:00pm. Students going to summer school must attend all 10 days. Have a great day!

Melissa Powell had the most parent surveys returned to help improve our Exceptional Children’s program! She goes above and beyond every day for our students and staff. It is no surprise that so many parents responded!

Estill County Middle School is seeking nominations for parent representatives to serve on the Site-Based Decision Making (SBDM) Council for the 2026–2027 school year. The SBDM Council plays an important role in helping make decisions that impact student achievement, school policies, and the overall success of our school community. Eligibility Requirements To be eligible for nomination, individuals must: Be the parent, stepparent, foster parent, or legal guardian of a student enrolled at Estill County Middle School for the 2026–2027 school year. Have a student actively enrolled and attending ECMS during the 2026–2027 school year. Not be employed by Estill County Middle School.
